HISTORY OF MORGANS
1878-1921
The Morgan Dollar is named for its designer, United States Mint Assistant Engraver George T. Morgan. Morgan took the role of Chief Engraver in February 1917. Morgan is most famous for designing the Morgan Dollar, one of the many namesakes, as well as the never-released $100 Gold Union coin.
